Lets talk about cameras and printers

http://www.asassypic.com

There seams to be much talk about photo booth cameras.  Photo Booth Companies say "My cameras are better than yours"!  They make claims that the camera equipment that they use is far superior than the other Companies. Companies try to make it seam way more complicated than it needs to be!  Its simple... For your very special day I am certain you want only the best!  When it comes to the cameras photo booths use, there are two basic types webcam computer based and dslr Nikon or Canon.  Keep in mind, if you have no intentions on reproducing the images into anything larger than the 2x6 strips given to you at the event...it really doesn't make much difference.  For 2x6 prints only the webcam is fine.  ...BUT if you intend to reproduce larger images for your wall or something else you will want the pictures to be taken with a professional dslr Nikon or Canon (or similar).  No need for to much concern here because MOST photo booth companies utilize these types of cameras!  You don't needs to be an expert in photography to hire the best photo booth for your event.  When checking around for a photo booth simply ask if they use dslr cameras or webcam.  If the photo booth vendor says its whatever brand (Nikon, Canon, ect) of dslr camera, then you're good!  The quality produced with these types of cameras is phenomenal!  Whether just 2x6 prints or poster size, the images will be crystal clear and non grainy.

At A Sassy Pic Photo Booth we ONLY us professional dslr cameras!  Our photo booths take pictures you'll be proud to share on social media or even your wall at home!  We love the fun and nostalgia of photo booths and I'm certain you and your guests will too!

Now...a little about printers. Here again there are two basic types: Inkjet printers (similar to those used at home) and DyeSub printers (use dye sublimination, thermal energy photo printers) Both of these types of printers produce images of similar quality.  I would say though, myself, that the DyeSub printers are slightly better.  Inkjet printers are slower and the ink requires drying time.  We like to keep the party going so ALL of our printers are DyeSub printers!  Photo Booth companies using Inkjet printers you will often see fanning of the strips and/or inserting them in plastic sleeves before giving them to guests.  This is because the ink must dry first to prevent smudging!  The DyeSub printers we utilize are printed via thermal energy, require no drying time, produce fabulous images, and paper is changed VERY INFREQUENTLY!  Inkjet requires more frequent paper change. With Inkjet printed strips, the pictures fade and become distorted over time :-(  but with DyeSub printers the images stay just as beautiful years after the party's over!  So when looking to book a photo booth just ask the company whether they use Inkjet or DyeSub printers, then go with the one that says they use DyeSub printers.  Plus, then you'll sound like a real expert!

We use DNP RX1 Printers AND SONY UPDR200
